Technology Changes Life Simultaneous Launch of the Smartmi Air Conditioner and Electronic Bidet

As of late, Beijing Smartmi Science and Technology Company Ltd., a company focused on the R&D and production of smart environment appliances, has been in the spotlight. Relying on the platform provided by Xiaomi technology, and founded in an era of increasing demand for home appliances, Smartmi has been working to provide a complete smart environment appliance solution.

Smartmi currently generates annual income of over 1.5 billion Yuan, despite only being founded in June 2014, and having a staff of 120 employees.

The current value of the company after round B financing is 1 billion dollars, ranking it as a unicorn company. Thus far, Smartmi has released five home environment appliances: the Xiaomi air purifier, MIJIA Air Purifier Pro, MIJIA PM2.5 Detector, Smartmi Anti-Bacterial Humidifier, and Smartmi DC pedestal fan.

Along with their long-rumored air conditioner, Smartmi had a surprise announcement - the Smartmi electronic bidet, a high-end product equipped with instantaneous warm water rinsing capabilities for the affordable price of RMB 999. Smartmi believes customers will be very happy with this new product, and trusts that Japan will no longer be the sole manufacturer of electronic bidets.

During this year’s product announcement conference, the CEO of Smartmi, Su Jun, talked about the company’s achievements over the three years since its foundation. In 2016, Smartmi’s revenue exceeded 1.5 billion RMB. Smartmi sells more than 2 million Xiaomi air purifiers annually and consistently ranks No. 1 in the global air purifier market by sales volume. In addition, in the summer of this year more than 100,000 Smartmi DC pedestal fans were sold. On the third-party sales platform Jingdong Mall, the Smartmi DC pedestal fan received more than 3,400 consumer ratings, and held an approval rate of up to 98%.

During round B financing, Smartmi’s valuation reached 1 billion US dollars, making it a unicorn company in the field of smart hardware.

In the field of home environment appliances, Smartmi has already released the MIJIA PM2.5 detector, Smartmi Anti-Bacterial Humidifier, Xiaomi Air Purifier 2, MIJIA Air Purifier Pro and Smartmi DC pedestal fan, which cover three dimensions of environmental quality - humidity, air flow and purity. With the release of the Smartmi DC air conditioner, the most important dimension, temperature, has now been incorporated into the Smartmi smart environment system, which gives Smartmi products the ability to completely regulate home environments.

As the core of the Smartmi smart environment appliance system, the “Air” app launched in this year’s conference began closed beta testing on August 10. The Air app can connect all Smartmi smart environment appliances, which lets users pay more attention to the quality of their home environment, rather than wasting time adjusting functions on each product. The app can automatically control all kinds of products to make them work together, so that indoor temperature, humidity and cleanliness remain around the values set by the user.

Smartmi has established the largest indoor air data platform in China, which receives indoor air data from nearly 110 million anonymous Smartmi users every day. Through use of big data analytics and cloud computing, this information will be very valuable for researching and developing new products in the future. Cloud data can be analyzed to study users' usage habits, which lets us make even smarter products.

Just like with our previous products, Smartmi holds to its slogan “making household appliances that move people.” The Smartmi DC air conditioner was redesigned according our standard for magnificence.
